This free, training will equip you with the sampling and identification skills to survey invertebrates in local streams on a monthly basis between April and September as part of the national Riverfly survey programme.
The data you collect is used monitor the health of our rivers and flag up pollution incidents. No experience or specialist knowledge is necessary; just enthusiasm and some spare time. Equipment will be provided.
The training includes in-river working so please bring wellies (or waders if you have them). Tea and coffee will be provided, but please bring a packed lunch. Training places are limited and priority will be given to those wishing to sample sites on the Taw or its tributaries. Interested?
