Just a quick thank you to David( treefella ) for giving up his time to show us "newbies" around the fishing on the Yeo, Creedy and Taw today. Not only did he show us the various beats, which entrance points to use and where to park but he even explained what levels to look out for on the gauges to avoid disappointment, and where it was unsafe to wade. My rod hand was getting decidedly twitchy by the end. Now fingers crossed for a dry week and a rise in temperature so the season can get properly underway and I can start exploring.

You're not wrong Yeoman, I never knew the CFFC had so much water! The upstream section of the Taw looks like an all day job. Working away this Saturday so might not make the Culm walk but apparently there's another 3 miles to tackle on that stretch plus the Lapford Yeo. Spoilt for choice if it ever stops bl**dy raining. Having spent years driving over codshead bridge and trying to peer in to the river it will be great to actually fish it, so I think I'm going to make that my first port of call.

Can produce some nice fish, that stretch. Good when the black gnats are about, in a few weeks, provided it has stopped raining!
