How does it look? Any rises yet on the Dart tributaries?
I'm coming for a family visit in about a week and I've heard it'll be a little early and cold for Dartmoor trout but that's when I'll be there.
I am open to fishing more promising spots in the area, but I've had my heart set on the two Darts for a while so I'll be there nonetheless -just hoping there might be some fish...

We have had a spell of warm weather over the last couple of weeks although next week on it may be slightly cooler. I have fished the west dart a couple of times since the season stared and as usual there are no rising fish as yet but I have seen really good grannon hatches this year. Fish can still be taken on weighted nymphs. These should be small, 16,s. The levels are good at the moment and with no rain in the forecast you should be ok. I’m certainly no expert but I have fished the west and east dart for many years and don’t expect too much at this time but you never know. Enjoy your stay it is a great place to be. PM me if you need any info. while your here. Terry

Thanks Terry -good to know. I am very much looking forward to the visit -even if I don't catch any fish. Pretty used to it from over here in fact
