I had my first session here today ( somehow never got round to fishing it last year). I walked down to where we finished the bank clearing ( 20 minutes or so) and spent a very enjoyable 6 1/2 hours fishing back to the car!! Nothing much happened to start with and when I finally started catching the first three threw the hook. But after about an hour things started to improve and plenty of fish came to the net throughout the day. Most fish took the nymph with only two rising to the klinkhammer , I added a Stewart style spider to the cast just below the dry and some fish took this with a boil in the surface ( made for interesting casting with three flies on the cast). Lots of Hawthorn flies about but I didn't see any taken by trout The Creedy early this morning This 11 inch WBT was the best of the day, but the others were of a good average size. Anybody else been out over Easter?

A few hours here this morning. Stayed on the dry fly even though the downstream wind would have suited the duo better. Odd fish rising, various flies about but a black gnat copy was the most accepted imitation. Anybody else fishing this year? Getting a bit bored of reading my own posts!!

Fished the Creedy last Tuesday evening in the company of Hardy Tim. Surprisingly the trout were quite cooperative with a fair amount of rising fish willing to take our imitations. Tim fished rather well and caught two nice fish of 12" and 13" while I had a bit of a nightmare losing fish and missing takes and when I did land any they were small fish. So today as I had the day off I spent the morning on the Creedy, gusty downstream wind, river a bit coloured and nothing hatching/rising......typical! Probably should have fished the nymph but stuck with the dry fly and was rewarded with this fine 13" WBT my best from the Creedy, so you never know in this game.
