Fished on the East Okement this evening, a few fish were looking up and I managed about a dozen on various dries. Most were small but a couple in the 7" class and one monster of 10" made for an enjoyable evening. This fish certainly punched above its weight proving that Dartmoor fish really do fight harder🤔 I wanted to see the bluebell display but I think I was a bit late as some had gone to seed Tried out some new nylon ( trouthunter evo) seems like good stuff. Anybody else got a report?

Now the evenings are drawing in my only chance at after work sessions is over the road on the Okement. A bit too much water for this little river so I had to find some slower areas where the fly didn’t instantly drag and I even fished up the little tributary and caught the odd fish Missed a nice fish whilst Tenkaraing ( is that a word?) by lying on a flat rock above a deep pot, lovely to see the fish fin up through the peaty water and take the fly but the tight line and my excitement pulled the fly out of it’s mouth, it would have been an interesting fight from 8’ up! No bank clearing here, proper off road angling Not easy but still great fun which is after all what it’s all about
