Ha, I'm wondering how many people that might have happened to and the line would have gone "ping" ?!
The Jensens make some awesome videos and it is nice to see one that doesn't go exactly to the script too.
I can't recall anything quite like that happening to me but I did have an experience in NZ where I had a couple of days of being beaten up by the fish. On the third day I found a brown that I'd convinced myself I wasn't going to land as I was on such a bad run but gave myself a good talking to, changed my fly and watched it for a bit.
The cast was pretty good, the fish ate and then tore off downstream. It took me a fair way down the river and I ended up wading pretty deep to follow it ( I was wet wading). I had to shout to my buddy from the other side who was fishing below me that I was coming through and eventually landed it.
It wasn't the biggest fish of the trip but was probably the most rewarding and funnily enough, from that moment they all stuck.

Hilarious thanks Boisker, reminded me of some mishaps that I've had on the East Dart, but I haven't yet been reduced to throwing my precious rod down the river to chase a fish. A couple of interesting points from the video were that this fish wasn't put off by the thwacks on the water as he repeatedly drove his line into the wind; and secondly, it came a long way for that fly (admittedly a pretty big mouthful of food). You can see it quite clearly in the slow-mo replay of the take: the fish arrows across from the deep water on the right. Johnny
