Managed 2 lovely 12 inches from here today, one in the very bottom pool, one in the top!

Couldn't agree with you more Chris, such a shame the weather been like it has been for the last mounth with the rivers looking so good and holding up so well, been out a few times but not being a fan of the numph (not easy keeping up with a upstream numph single handed, I fish a short line for dry fly and use the rod more than most people)I've struggle to find any rising fish so like you cant wait for it to warm up ,this week looks rubbish but looking promising for the following one so heres hoping

Nicely done Rubble, I have to admit it's not a section I've fished much before but it's looking good this season. Not a bad hatch of ldo's ( off camera ofcourse) so let's hope the weather finally improves and we can enjoy some prolonged rises. As you say treefella just a hint of some Warmer weather to come next weekend. The poor old bees could also do with the weather picking up!!

Lets hope we get a decent bit of rain this week. Fished Dunscombe about a week ago and there was masses of that horrible Algae covering the gravel and accumulating in the slacks. A good flush out would be welcome!

Fishing on the Lapford Yeo this time. Another beat chalked off the list but I don't feel I've done any of them real justice yet. Looks like the weather might warm up a bit this week so we might start getting some proper dry fly action. Here's hoping.

Thanks Chris, another gem. I’m sitting at home having just had a wisdom tooth removed and was feeling a bit pi**ed off. That cheered me up no end. By the way I’m sure Roddy would be very proud.

They say you get what you wished for. I was the stupid bugger that wanted a low pressure system and SOME rain. Should have gone up to the moor on Friday but never made it. Current level at Dunnabridge is over a metre and a half so will have wait a day or two. This season is frustrating so far.

I think we all wanted some rain, but it would be nice now if it stopped for more than 5 minutes. At this rate I'll be starting my annual Tench campaign about 2 months early!

Washed out evening on the Taw. If things don't improve soon their might be a good deal on ebay for a used Gopro!!
I did have a nice chat with Mark ( our chainsaw expert from the bank clearing sessions), he'd had a nice 12" fish from earlier in the day. And I managed to not film the inside of my jacket this time which was a bit of an improvement. Always learning.

Anyone ventured out yet following the rain this week? Walked to the Exe in Exeter earlier. Looks v high still, bit muddy, can maybe see stones in 1-2 feet depth.

Alas no Rubble, I had such plans for May but they all got washed away! Let's hope for better in June. Has anyone fished the Culm? It's a long drive from here to film another blank☹

Ditto to that Chris, better days are coming. Well I did venture out to the west dart rubble as the gauge at Dunnabridge had dropped to 0.5 metres. What I didn’t check was the weather forecast for Thursday ( idiot or desperate to fish) as we had very bright sun and absolutely crystal clear water. Mustn’t grumble after all the rain we’ve had but alas not a fish to be seen. A few other anglers about all saying the same. The plus side was no dead sheep and no sign of any sewage and I did see a solitary may fly. Had a quiet snooze and got burnt to hell. Will I ever learn.

Well, tried the Yeo yesterday on the golf course. Still rather high and eating in places was either not possible or quite sketchy. Managed one to hand and dropped a handful more on a dry. Will leave it a few more days, or go higher up, like Dartmoor.

Fished the Taw yesterday, still a bit high but fishable. Plenty of plucky little trout to the nymph but couldn't connect with any on the dry. Nothing rising, a few Mayfly and large brook duns plus a handful of black gnats about. Camera has started playing up a bit but here's the video for anyone who's interested.

Another nice video😀
Checked the Laptops Yeo Saturday morning. Seemed quite high and turgid still do popped down the the Taw instead. Running a bit higher than summer levels but beautifully clear. Slightly or going but those few fish rising were game and managed a few decent fish near the top of the bottom stretch on a humpy (deer hair body Adams).
Followed you above Dunscombe last night and had some great fish. Mayfly pattern landed a good one in the pool below the bridge, on to a black gnat up near the meander. But the pool below Ladds Guns gave up 3 decent fish, more missed bites. All on a rough olive. Went and lost it in the tree on the next pool😂
