Well had a very nice last day of season for me on upper Taw. The water was up slightly but pretty clear and overall looked quite healthy in comparison with earlier in the season. It was quite windy and leaves were coming off in numbers which were a nuisance. What was more annoying was the number of times I cast to rises to only find out it was an acorn that had dropped. Never mind there were quite a few fish rising and I used a NZ set up with para greenwell and ptn and overall had a super day. The rising fish tended to hit the dry provided it was put on their nose and the deeper pools tended to elicit a response to the ptn. Best was 12in which fought like a tiger and very satisfying end of season fish. Typically had a super boil to dry only to completely miss it and suspect may have been a peal. Himalayan Balsam is dying (thank goodness) and saw 4 kingfishers. Now a long haul to next season Ugh
