While my daughter was at the fly fishing school at Exe Valley, I nipped over to the Culm for a few hours. Balmy temperature and the river looked beautiful in the sunlight. I saw one airborne mayfly and the chap in the picture hitched a ride - not what you'd call a prolific hatch... I did see a few rises but they weren't interested in my black Klinkhamer until I got to just downstream of the wooden bridge, where I lost one fish and brought a 7" to hand. I didn't really deserve it as the fish grabbed the fly when it was sunk and I was retrieving to recast. Things seem to be warming up now bit it would be nice if the wind would drop below 20mph now and again. Attachments:
