I arrived to fish the river on the Thursday night and it was completely covered in a blue shine and stank of diesel. I called the EA immediately who told me they had already had reports the day before which was a bit worrying knowing it had been like this for a day already. I was called back by an EA officer who told me about the spill from the farm and that they had got some booms out on the Friday morning to try and collect it but couldn't do anything on the harder to reach areas near town and under bridges. This was the Saturday morning he called me back and said there were some Bullaheads and Eels Belly up where he was:( There were a lot of Trout rising that night, shame to see them sucking in the diesel as well as the flies. Same goes for the bats and I guess even the cows. This is a my first post on here, shame it's over such a sad matter. I hope it looked a lot worse than it actually is. has anyone anymore news on this?
