Me and Geraldo finally got out for the first time since November. A clear but very high river. 3 fish caught all day but that really didn't matter one bit. So nice just to be on the water, casting a line in anticipation.

12 Grayling on Wiltshire Avon on Monday including 4 x 12-14 inchers. Happy Day :-) Not a great pic, but wanted to be quick. Read a letter recently in T&S that one should kill Grayling because they eat trout and salmon eggs, anyone know of that ?

Personally I'd rather you 'killed' the person responsible for the letter in T&S who wrote that, as I am sure that would be a far more beneficial development in our fisheries

When I used to fish the test at wherwell before it was opened up to grayling fishing I think it was in the 80,s or 90,s we were told to kill all grayling, obviously we didn't and it's a good job we didn't because they must be making a lot of money opening it up. At the time they thought we were crazy to pay to fish for them

£10 a day to fish the Test at Long Parish to cull the grayling. Unfortunately we had to kill some to show that we were doing the expected. The keeper probably thought we were poor anglers because of our low numbers . Anyway to fish a lovely bit of river for a tenner was brilliant. This was about 30 years ago. Colin Just think Kim ,we could have been fishing the Test at the same time only separated by the A303.

Some very angry chaps on Facebook about this grayling article.
He says he thinks it's criminal to fish c&r for grayling.
He goes on to say about grayling being used in science. The blood is very close to human blood so it's used in cancer research.Im not familiar with this?
I was hoping it was a joke article to get people talking.
