Been up to Fernworthy today ( my youngest wanted to see the snow) first time for years and I see the car park is now pay and display. Does this count for anglers too or are they allowed to open the gate and drive down next to the permit hut like you used to. Might get round to giving it a few casts this season does anyone on this forum fish it much?

According to the SWLT website the daily parking charges do apply, or you can buy a permit from them for £30 for the year to park at any of their venues: "Daily car parking charges apply. Why not purchase an annual parking permit for only £30 to give you free parking at all South West Lakes Trust venues? Available from our head office on 01566 771930. By purchasing an annual parking permit you will automatically become a Friend of the Trust."www.swlakestrust.org.uk/lakes-and-facilities/the-lakes/fernworthy

I went to Fernworthy on Thursday and walked the perimeter with my Springer. I was initially disappointed that it was £2 for 2 hours (and I only just made it back to the car in time!!) - but there is a lot of good work going on with footpaths and bridges which I suppose has to be paid for somehow. I did bump into someone wearing a Hardy cap so asked him about fishing and parking charges too. He seemed to think that park down by the lodge, get your ticket and park for free.

The car parking charge is covered in the cost of the permit, if you buy your ticket online you get a parking permit at the bottom of ticket that you print off, much easier than buying your permit at the Hut, there is a parking area down by the hut.

Thanks Mo - Very useful info - Makes life much easier.
Out of interest is that arrangement similar for other Resi's such as Burrator / Kennick / Roadford ??
