This was on the Crediton Yeo. I was originally going to fish the stretch by Bernaville nursery but it didn't look particularly inviting. Then i was going to go to the Lapford Yeo but as time was getting on i just stopped off and fished the Yeo ... glad i did

Joined Pusser on the Yeo today- chilly start but we enjoyed some glorious spring sunshine. Had a successful first session on the Fordton stretch, including one fish of 12 inch. A few fish were rising at the tails of pools (Grannom were hatching but they weren't being taken), however all fish today were caught at the head, in faster water on GRHE and PTN. At lunch, we moved up to Salmon Hutch, where we bumped into Mike Weaver. Mike had just spent and hour or two on the stretch we were about to fish. My immediate thought was- will there be any fish left to go at! Not sure if it was Mike or just the conditions, but we struggled for the next two hours , adding just 2 to the total. Final count was 11 fish, plus a few lost. Very enjoyable.

I'd say catching anything after Mr Weaver had been through is a bit of a result! Next time he visits our place for firewood I'll tell him he missed two! Thought about going after work today looking at the sunshine outside the window but it turned a bit cold after 5 o'clock, still bank holidays on the way.

What Tim has failed to mention is that he caught 9 and I caught 2 of the 11. Good fishing Tim

I had 3 hours on the Yeo this afternoon and managed some PBs! The river was at a decent level and slightly coloured. There was a bit of a breeze running but it was intermittent so not too much trouble. I had 6 to the net and lost 3 and they were all of a fairly decent size (nothing under 7"). I had a great time exploring all the various runs and foam lines and my first of the day came from dropping my flies into a run between 2 fallen trees; i nearly missed the fish as it was a very tentative take. I didn't see anything hatching today but a few fish were rising in one particular spot, so i cast my flies upstream of the rings and the next fish was on the hook! All fish were taken on a bead head PTN and all takes were very tentative. So to the PBs, thus is the most fish i've had in an afternoon and the largest was around 12", my next PB. Cheers A very enjoyable few hours indeed. This was the largest of the day ... Great fish bud!

Fished the Yeo either side of uton bridge again this afternoon, a few rising fish too, tried a fair few dries with no interest until I tried a chenille type daddy Followed by some good takes, five to hand and a couple more which opted for early release, one which really nailed the fly before shaking itself off a few seconds later, all very exciting before losing the fly to a tree after getting over excited at a nearby rise A couple more to a ptn after activity died down completed a great day Rounded the day off losing a couple more flies to the trees before calling it a
