I had a lovely few hours on the Paris - Brest Canal today, at St Gobrien in Brittany. I took my 4wt and a box of flies and wet a line. I set up a duo on a NZ rig and managed to catch a couple (they both went for the nymph). The setting is fantastic, not quite a Devon river but not bad ... And the fish were pleasing too (no river monsters but gave a good account of themselves)
