I have really enjoyed watching the Olympics and heard that 10 million people tuned in to watch the gymnastics on Sunday.
As a non cyclist I have really enjoyed these events along with many others including archery. It seems as though successes from previous Olympics are starting to filter through and the athletes have inspired younger generations to take up a sport they may never have considered. Funding has also helped but to me, at least, we are starting to reap the rewards!
Chris Hoy is also a top pundit along with the diving dude too!

Pete, I couldn't agree more. Road cycling a real turn off for me, but the velodrome events are amazing. What has impressed me is the way the BBC has used guys like Hoy and Redgrave with such unique insights into the teams, but who also allow you to get close to our medalists during interviews because they are still "on the scene", and of course revered. Last night Jo, one of the women's team pursuit spent about 1 hour with Chris and anchor lady and it was a priceless look the mind and life of an Olympian and into the cycling team.

I think the insights are really interesting. There was a lovely little shot of Victoria Pendleton who was talking to the Australian lady who was her big competition over the years and had just retired. They were both talking and shedding some tears as they spoke.

Fully agree with the above. This Olympics has seen British athletes outperform themselves which is fantastic. To think the we sit 2nd in the medal table, with Russia way down the list, is something inconceivable in my younger years; perhaps 'clean' Russians are mortal after all . Looking forward to catching snippets over the coming days.

I love the Olympics.. I can pretty much get into any competitive sport when it's Olympics and World Championship based... We've done fantastically well and as already said it's amazing to see GB so high in the medal table- we'll probably finish 3rd...
I wonder what the table would look like if they did a table for medals won to cost spent... so a sort of cost analysis per medal... the reason we've done so much better than we used to is we spend a whole lot more on it... and more importantly more money than most other countries... US has won more than any other country... they spend the most... On one level it's a shame, for most sport: to be the best you obviously need to have the talent, but perhaps just as crucially be fortunate enough to be born into country with a comprehensive sports funding programme..
