Although we're likeasnot meeting on Weds 30th in any case thought I'd throw this in the mix... have to drop the outlaws at Plymouth station on Tues 29th about 10, and figure it would be rude not to wet a line at Burrator on my way home. Will most likely have a few casts in front of the lodge, then head for copstone peninsula - if anyone is daft enough to turn out then some bulldusting about fish and fishing whilst trying not to freeze would be welcome. Cheers, Kev

Hi Kev, How did you get on on the 29th at Burrator? I'm thinking of wetting a line there myself probably next week - If anyone fancies meeting up let me know?
Paul

Tempting but I think I'll have to decline... I'm gonna have limited annual leave this coming season as we plan on taking a month off next Feb, so I don't want to push my luck and use up too many 'green cards' for weekend fishing away from rivers. I'm gonna try and wait for the season to start..... May be one more trip to the Tone if the rivers drop

I'll give it a punt on Saturday 13th if the Tamar's out of sorts (likely given the sequence of Atlantic Lows that seem to be running through!).

One of our club members went up for the first time recently. No one there . He caught one nice rainbow and really enjoyed the day. Colin.

Ok Mat. Should be able to tell you about club membership in the next few days. I know you won't phone during the rugby . Then , I wouldn't answer either. Colin.

Doctors orders said no strenuous exercise, walking, wading - Salmon fishing in other words - for the Easter weekend. So my fishy Good Friday tradition was a few hours at Burrator (coupla hundred yards from the car and the water was cold as a fricken' ice bath so the quack should be happy with that!)... After a flick or two on the West bank near the activity centre, and on the grass Dam wall at the south bank, I ended up at Longstone. Gutted to say I cracked what they wanted and where they were... and the fish cracked me as I should have been using line of more than 5lbs BS. Fresh fulling mill fluoro (purchased this winter) and one big smash of a take. Knots were reliable, competition tested, favourites. Fish jumped, looked to be a serious contender. ARSE!!! Operator error, but yet to fathom precisely where. Insufficient slack between rodtip and line on water? Bugger. Had a leave pass to fish the river today for Salmon before heading upcountry for work in the week ahead... and dear Storm Kate (why did the buggers start naming them?!?!?!? It's made the weather worse!!!) Had the Tamar at 8'6" and rising (c/w 11" last weekend!!!)... Dressed some dries for summer instead....

I think we will all be struggling to find a river to fish. I heard on the news that Otterton was flooded and closed putting a stop on my bacon butty at the mill this morning. Colin.

I had a day at Kennick today, had a great day. Landed 2 from 5 or 6 bites. Planning on a trip to Avon Dam on Thursday if anyone fancies it. Weather was all over the place today though
