On Tuesday I fished the Tamar which was a first, first at druxton bridge then at Netherbridge. My aim was to target Grayling, it was first again for me I started with nymph set up PTN and a another one nymph with a orange bead and peacock herl body (not sure if it has name) after few cast my nymphs got stock in some rocks and lost them both then I thought let's stick to a setting I'm comfortable with 9ft leader with a duo PTN on the point and a Klink on the top. Druxton was good I'm sorry to say that I landed 2 nice brownies, after 3hours I decided to move downstream to Netherbridge after a hour fight with a strong side wind and to my surprise landed my first Grayling such a little fighter and so delicate when it took my nymph compare to a trout. After few more cast I thought the day was over but landed another one which took the Klink then later 2 more on the PTN. This day was for me the best day of season and hopefully not the last.<br /> Anthony Sent from my SM-J510FN using Tapatalk

I think it was rain that caused it Fario, I took a look and ended up elsewhere. Other here will know better but I believe it always carries a very slight tinge of colour to it. Similar to the Taw.

Ok I don't mind the river having a bit of colour I find easier to get close to the fish.

I fished the Tamar, just near Launceston, for a few hours this afternoon, it's very coloured still. Mind you i had a cracking 3 hours and caught 6 Grayling which I'm really pleased about (my first real Grayling session). I was tight line nymphing which i feel im getting to grips with now, and they really liked my Czech nymph 'traffic light' pattern! Anyway I'm over the moon to have broken my Grayling 'duck'. Here's a few of them ...

Good stuff pusser... I haven't made it out fishing for two weeks.... busy on the weekends and no chance to take a day off.... I must get out before it gets really cold... Stunning morning but alas I can't go today either... off to fell an awkward tree right next to a mates conservatory.... not the largest I've ever felled by a long way.... but big enough to knock the conservatory flat If you hear swearing floating across Devon early afternoon.....

Good luck with the tree, I may tap you up with a hand getting rid of some leylandii when we have completed the move to our new house (got a chainsaw I can borrow )

No worries... I've got access to kit from work... although I don't have my own personal saw anymore (I'm more office / less practical based these days) so borrow colleagues saws... need to be careful as they obviously ain't happy if the chain comes back looking like it's ploughed the earth.. I can pop over with kit... chainsaw, pole chainsaw etc... just give me a shout Cheers
