Visited Dunscombe Bridge on Saturday pm for an hour. River high but clearing down. One bt to 8" at junction of Yeo and Creedy with lead nymph.

First trip to the Taw last Sunday in warm sunny weather. River in lovely condition. Managrd one bt and one smolt on a nymph. No risers before midday when I left.
Had a go on the Pynes Bridge section of the Yeo yesterday and managed 2 bt on a nymph and also a dry fly! Felt a bit cold until the sun came out. Slow progress but this stretch does now fish much better with the clearance work done. Looking forward to returning in warmer weather.

Took a day off today, so decided to explore the Creedy. I started at its junction with the Yeo but didnt fish for a while as the first 200 yards or so is deep, overgrown and unfishable. Not much surface movement this morning, so started on PTN and GRHE nymph then moved onto dry only at lunchtime. Initially caught three on CDC emerger then saw a few Mayflies hatching, so caught another 3 on one of my Mayfly concoctions- great fun.
