Never fished the Duchy waters before. Is it too early in the season to have a bash ? Was thinking of going up on Saturday 21st....weather looks promising.

Few flies hatching off the lower river last week in the afternoon. Had a touch off some trout i think whilst swinging flies for salmon. Good luck

With the rest of the week warm... 18 & 19 C forecast Thurs/Fri it will be very disappointing if the rivers don’t kick on this week. I popped to the Axe Sunday lunchtime for an hour, up above Axminster.... I should have gone to the Otter as the Axe was still carrying too much colour, it had more than the Otter 24 hrs earlier. But I still had a quick cast for an hour as I encountered my first proper hatch of the season, a veritable **** load of Grannom coming off.... not that the fish were interested, didn’t see a single rise

Best of luck, I've worked up there earlier and caught fish and reckon you might just be there at the right time. Have a great time!
