Hi everyone, sorry for not being around of late. I've been tied up with work and the magazine has taken up a lot of my time too.
I am sure everyone else has had the same sort of season so there hasn't been much to talk about. We even decided to suspend the guiding during the hottest weather as we didn't think it was fair to the fish.
I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for some rain and some salmon too. The last small lift we had didn't seem to impact the river in any major way but I've picked up the odd sea trout on occasion.
Apart from that little to report!

Hi Pete,
Doesn't look like much rain on the horizon, so I've got a feeling the season won't end with a bang, but who knows!
Nice to hear the fish come first at the F and H!
Cheers for now
Ben

I've booked the 28th for a last hurrah for the season but even the long range forecast shows no change to the dry conditions. Still these things tend to go in cycles, hopefully next year will be better. I have still enjoyed every second I've spent on the different CFFC rivers this year, sometimes it's just nice to paddle about casting a dry fly into likely spots and getting a nice drag free drift. Spending time immersed in nature is never wasted. ( Not too immersed though, a couple of near misses this year despite the low water!)

Yes, it looks like it is set dry for a while which is a shame.
Not sure what everyone else has found but the hatches on the river were pretty screwed up and rising fish have been less than I can recall in sometime.
That having been said I was guiding on Dartmoor on Tuesday and around 5pm or so the wind dropped and the fish started rising. It was a magical 10 minutes and reminds me of why we love doing this so much.
