A bit quiet on here of late. Must admit that the windy weather of late has seen me lure fishing for bass and mackerel instead, not with much success. Saw a sea trout leap out of the water on front of me when fishing The Ness, big as my thigh!
Also bagged a couple of large brownies from Meldon and Venford reservoirs on a small copper Toby.

Hi Rubble, any luck with the Bass? Theres been a lot of Brit inshore of late. Last week I could have scooped out kilos of it with a landing net. Fished an evening high just round from where you were, a few decent ones had been landed the evening before, but all i could muster was a few maks.

No bass although they are in evidence. Some mackerel last night at Shaldon. Always seems to be last half hour before dark.

Went to Roadford, never been so I thought why not , I love a challenge. Surprised how good it was once I figured out what they wanted, had 7 Browns to 1.25 lb and a Perch. Coves and a black buzzer lifted from deep down, but quite close in. Lots of Carp about.

Grabbed a quick hour on the Exe. Started off spectacularly with an involuntary swim. Ware warm so stayed. Hooked a good fish but lost it after five minutes when the leader broke. Not a happy bunny

That’s really unlucky Paul... I came very close to falling in head first a couple of weeks ago.... leaning out from the bank over a deep undercut pool trying to see around a small bush... I just managed to regain my balance Have you got out much on the Exe this season?

Just a few trout and grayling. Seen a few salmon before, but that was the first I'd hooked in the three years I've been fishing there!

Bad luck Paul. Nothing worse than being snapped up! Sure a few more will be coming through before the end of the season.
