My wife and I will be on holiday in South Devon next week and we are hoping to get a day's fishing.
With the brown trout season closed, our options are looking limited. Kennick and Burrator look like they are hard at the moment and I don't fancy fishing a sinker all day.
So, I'm wondering about back end sea trout on the Plym, Erme, etc? Can anyone give me some recommendations of point me towards something else I might not have considered?
Best
Jon

I like your plan Jon, except according to the EA all Devon rivers are now closed for seatrout except for Axe, Otter and Sid. So unless you want to commute to East Devon you might have to recalibrate and think salmon. let us know how you get on. Cheers, Johnny

May the weather be fair and the trout keep biting.

I’ve been to Kennick twice in the last 10 days , out of desperation , there is still some good sport to be had there. Fished the east side with a floating line, a long fluoro leader , size 12 pheasant tail nymph and a black buzzer on the dropper . 3.30pm-6.30pm three hour ticket. They start coming inshore about 4.30pm. Don’t wade, I had all mine close in, two rod lengths from the bank. I cast out then cast along the bank then take a dozen paces. I try to cover as much water as possible. Not blanked, missed a fair few takes , had some good fish so I must be doing something right. I’ve only fished the east shore mind you.

That's great, thank you. That should work for us.
