I’m taking advantage of the mild weather and a sudden edge to cast a line and have booked a 3 hour ticket to Kennick tomorrow. Not fished it this year but am quite looking forward to it. Mind you a 2 lb rainbow (always the optimist) will probably frighten the life out of me.

Not much to report I’m afraid Pete. Did not see or feel a fish all afternoon. Surprising number of rods up there today, spoke to several of “the last of the summer wine gang” what a lovely bunch of people as usual at Kennick, and they all had the same story I’m afraid. Saw a guy on a float tube who looked like he was suffering from hypothermia, not sure if he had anything. Maybe an age thing but double hauling an intermediate doesn’t do it for me any more. Roll on March 2021. Thanks for asking by the way.

Each to their own I guess but it must have been different to casting a short line on a 3wt to rising 8 inch fish!
I have a float tube that my wife bought me 25 odd years ago from Steve Parton. As an aside, I remember her saying he was quite a character. I've still have never got around to inflating it but perhaps one day...
