I have been trying to track down a map of the Moorland Dart which includes the pool names. Apparently there used to be one in the Forest Inn but it has now disappeared.
Can anyone help please?
Season's greetings to you all, and here's to a much better 2021!
Johnny

I used to purchase my day/season tickets from the Forest Inn years ago, about 4 past landlords and do remember the map but do not recall too many named pools. I assumed it was a blown up version of the map the Duchy used to issue with the tickets. The Duchy office in Princetown is no longer there buy maybe the visitors centre might be able to help. The WRT may have more detailed maps lying around but unlikely. The DAA may have members that could point you in the right direction. Sorry not to be of any help. I have Googled a bit and found maps for “wild swimming” and canoeing but nothing for poor old fisherman. If you come up with something I also would be very interested and If I find owt I’ll let you know. Seasons greetings to you also and maybe next year we might dump into each other up there. I’ll be the old codger sitting on a rock staring into a fly box. Terry

Thanks Terry! I will be the one who has slipped off the rock and is scrabbling about looking for his sunglasses before they get washed down the river. I have had a couple of helpful replies from the DAA already and will let you know if anything transpires. Johnny

Hi Johnny, did you track down the map of the pools? I've also been trying to find this for the West Dart.
Many thanks,
Tom

Hi Tom, I had been promised copies by two different people but the trail has gone cold again! It's like trying to track down a treasure map... I will try again and let you know when I succeed. Out of interest, are you planning on going after night-time sea trout? If you are, send me a PM and I can tell you what I know/can remember about the pools upstream of Hexworthy. Cheers, Johnny
