I see the Exe has finally got it's act together and risen a bit, I think it could do with another few days of rain but hopefully it will stir up some silver things. Any extra water on the Taw or the south Dartmoor rivers?

Hi Andy,
yup, Taw is up and fish are about I've spent a frustrating but enjoyable day trying to tempt a few. I got to the river and it was carrying colour but not too high. I fished a few pools without success and headed back up stream where I saw a few fish moving. The rain came and as the afternoon carried on visibility got to just a couple of inches and to be honest wasn't really fishable from 3ish...didn't stop me cracking on til 6.30 though!

The Exe fished really well today. Up a few inches, slightly coloured but not galloping through - no sign of a salmon but 14 good sized trout ( 6 brownies and 8 rainbows)
Will try again after work on Friday looking for my first salmon of the season

Sorry wasn't me. More good sized trout followed on Friday and again on Sunday but the water level is dropping back and clearing, so maybe my chances have gone for this spate. Next chance is Tuesday afternoon but maybe too late... what do you think?

Next chance is Tuesday afternoon but maybe too late... what do you think? There was another from just above Tiverton yesterday (Monday) so you never know... Still too early for me up above Dulverton. Andy

The last spate has also brought some good sized sea trout on to the Taw where I work. I went after some the other night with Howard T and we saw some nice ones take to the air. We decided to wait a bit until fully dark and as I eased in I noticed a sheep and lamb caught along a large ledge by where I got in. Me being there made them uneasy and they started running along the ledge. The lamb managed to fall in and I popped my rod down and despite being up to my chest in water managed to get the lamb up and out again. Took the edge off of the pool a bit though!

Well Done Pete !!!
Make sure that you pop it in the fishing diary.... in years to come it will make a great story a "catch and release" lamb from the River Taw

We are lucky! herewith a report dated 28th May
First day of fishing. By John
Today was the first day of fishing season for Grayling and Trout this summer. Because of the high water level in the river at the moment we chose to fish for grayling and trout in the lakes close to Rajamaa. We had Wind from the north and +6-8´c today so unfortunately there is no fish to report in from our first trip this year.
But it seems to be better weather later this week so hopefully the fishing will get better then.
From a river in Sweden! I'll be there in August- midge & mozzie repellent, hat visor etc .
