Had a different session fishing. Found a poacher fishing from my bank. He said that it didn't matter that he was poaching. I felt that after I had travelled for an hour and a half to go fishing and someone had already fished my best length of river that it did matter. His excuse was that he had got confused as to which bank he should be fishing from and anyway it didn't matter.
Who was right
The about a hour later I got a tremendous take, a short fight and then nothing. Far to big to be a brownie or the normal rainbow that I get. The brief glimpse that I had of it was a fairly large silver fish ( could have ben a sea trout - but there are not many of those in the Exe).
All in all - not the most successful of days

Thats too bad FBF, nothing like coming to your favourite spot and there is someone there, even worse when they shouldn't be there in the first place. I have caught the same guy twice on a river I work on and there isn't a lot you can do especially as he had a large knife attached to his belt. He did go but he has no doubt been back. I was on a beat of the water where I work on Sun and it was very obvious someone had been helping themselves to the fishing.
Are you finding you have a lot of rainbows?

Rainbows in the Exe seem to out number brownies at the moment. In a bag of 14 8 were rainbow and just 6 brownies. The Exe seems over run with our American cousins.
