I went fishing in the River Exe yesterday and managed to hook and land a decent fish in front of an audience of dog walkers on the far bank.
After slipping the fish back into the water a brief conversation about what type of fish it was took place. Then the dog walker said " we saw loads of big fish jumping here yesterday. All the way down to the next weir. There were loads of salmon along here. We saw them"
Now for the philosophical fisherman the question must be - why whatever you are doing was it better yesterday.
