How's it looking on the CFFC waters at the moment?
I was down a few weeks ago and spent a few hours on the Taw (a few rises but I couldn't connect) and the Yeo (very low water levels).
Have we had some rainfall since then or are the rivers even lower? I don't want to waste a weekend if conditions are poor (not very sporting, but I live in Bristol and only get so many weekend passes from the longhaired CO!)
Any info gratefully received.

If I catch a few fish, rivers are in reasonable nick, but don't rely on this for expert advice. I've found fish very hard to come by so far this year but in the last week I have had reasonable sessions on the Yeo and Taw and an interesting day on the Culm yesterday.
Water levels are still very low with the recent rains not really touching them. The Taw is probably fishing the best at the moment (I've heard of one or two others that have done well on the downstrream section as well as upstream.
The Yeo I have found fickle Not only are levels low but flow is very low. The best bit I've found is round the Salmon hutch but it is now the dogs and picnic season which means its only really a proposition very early am.
Pass on the Creedy.
The Culm is low, but there is still a good lively flow of water so it feels more alive that the Yeo. The lower stretch is unfishable for me; you could walk across on the weed which chokes nigh on everything. There is at least one member who revels in this sort of condition with no little success. The exception downstream is the short strech above the upper ford, right close to where you park. This has deepened since last season and is a lovely run. I hit something huge there yesterday which dived into and round the roots - it felt very heavy.
The upper part of the Culm is relatively weed free and was fishing quite nicely.
Overall, except one morning on the Taw, I have seen very little rising. This may be a lack of insect life or may be that alkmost all my fishing is done between 10.30 and 3.30.
Hope this helps. Your other option would be to defer a week and bring/ send the long haired CO to Pete's ladies casting morning on Sunday!

Many thanks, Paul
I've already recommended Pete's Ladies Casting session to the wife - no joy, I'm afraid!

Great summary Paul!
I'd have to agree and say Taw is a better bet. I've been ignoring the slower stretches unless we have seen moving fish and working the faster water on the water I work on. Think there is rain coming Fri.

Although not CCFC waters, the upper Exe- Dulverton Angling CLub, £25pa bought in Lance Nicholsons tackle shop in Dulverton was in lovely nick yesterday; low but plenty of water. Very, very clear. There are three beats, two on the Exe and one on the Haddeo. i think they've got one on the Barle as well. I'd love to say I had a great day but caughtthree quickly including a smolt and then my wading boot disintegrated and I retired hurt.
