First trip out on Saturday morning, I wasn't expecting more than a walk up the river thinking it would be too high and murky but it was actually surprisingly clear with plenty of fishable water. A few Grannom were about, as well as a smattering of Olives and even a couple of Mayfly! However, nothing was rising and it would have been a tough gig on dry only, so I opted for NZ style with a fairly long tail to the bedhead. The runs and glides produced nothing but flicking the set up into the holes and pots produced a few tiddlers and a couple of better fish, so all in all not a bad start.

Ha ha Johnny, I might struggle to remember how to edit the things! Second week of October was my last outing, goodness know how my casting is going to perform. Looking forward to some more outings on the Duchy this season.

I’m still on the waiting list for my first trip also Chris. At last the weather is improving so maybe next week for me. I’m also looking forward to the Halfstone videos and can’t wait to see some on the Duchy.
