As I intend to spend a lot more time in Devon I was thinking of trying out some of the Westcountry Angling Passport beats. Are these worthwhile and in particular , as I am based in N Devon I am intersted in the following Essebeare, Witheridge Mill Bridge, Blue Fox Glade and Park Mill on L Dart, Gortleigh, Woodford, Moroview, N Lew and Lane Barton all on Torridge Deer Bridge, Boyton and Druxton on Tamar Has anyone fished these and/or have alternative suggestions? Thanks Graham

I've fished Essebeare and Witheridge Mill Bridge on the Little Dart once or twice. Very nice small stream fishing, the fish aren't going to pull you in or break the rod I've heard good things about Blue Fox Glade, very attractive water apparently. The only Torridge beat I've fished was Kismeldon which is no longer in the scheme. I imagine Woodford is similar but a bit bigger. There is a good mayfly in June on the Torridge. When you try some of the others report back here Andy

Tried Lane Barton on the Torridge last summer, personally I'd give it a miss, although it was low when I tried.
