I received this from Crediton Angling Club yesterday
"I am very sad to have to tell you that there has been a pollution incident on our waters and it looks as if it may be rather serious.
As a result you are asked NOT to fish the river Yeo, from Codshead Bridge downstream, past Dunscombe bridge and beyond the confluence with the river Creedy, to the railway bridge, until further notice.
We are still awaiting a report on the situation on the river Creedy, from the football pitches downstream. Please, therefore, refrain from fishing that section too until you hear from me again. An inspection will take place tomorrow.
You may fish the section of the river Creedy known as “the Lower Creedy” and if you do, would you please make a catch return, to me, immediately afterwards. Please also report any signs, positive or negative, which may have a bearing on this.
As far as I know, all of the rest of our water, including the river Yeo upstream of Codshead Bridge, is clear.
I shall do my best to keep you informed of any further developments. In the meantime, rest assured that David Pope (Chairman), Howard Thresher (Treasurer) and the rest of the committee are doing all they can to get to the bottom of this."
