With so much of the wet stuff falling all around us are there any links/web-sites that let us monitor any of the river levels in the SW

Take a look under the Exe section and there is a web cam for Thorverton.
Looking at it right now is enough to make me weep!

Saw it was over this morning too but has dropped back a bit this evening. Just need a bit more rain tomorrow morning to get it back up again!
I did some retail therapy at Howards y'day afternoon to make up for the lack of fishing. Walked away with some egg yarn for mullet flies and some drop loaded hooks. I can't work out if the hooks are for winter grayling bugs or for as soon as the river is safe to fish....

Well I wasn't swept away by either the water or the excitement of the fishing. 10 rods out on the river and only two fish taken. The water was not that big really considering how the upper end of the Exe looked and nearly all the colour had dropped out of it, looked perfect Everyone we met said the same - "haven't seen a thing" The other thing we were told was "you should have been here last week" It's times like this I could easily give up salmon fishing Next time will be different... wont it? Great to see someone out giving it a go...what is it we say "if your line isn't in the water...."
Andy I don't think we have met but was it you I saw land an 8lber by the Anchor just upstream of the bridge on a spinner 2/3 years ago. I can't remember the year but think it was May if that helps?

Not guilty. I haven't spun the Exe for years but I might have to start again if these levels keep!
