So how is your new season? Mine started well, 2 fish on opening day on the lower Creedy 10" and 9.5" (VERY important that half inch!) Next trip, blanked on the Culm. Third trip broke my rod tip! Doh! New tip section ordered, normal service to be resumed as soon as it arrives.

Thanks mate. Thats only because I havent started yet! The boss is still deciding where to start. Garden, front room or allotment! Luckily being female she can't make up her mind. So back to the fishing! Hows your season going?

Nice Brace to get going Chris, how fat were they. Just wondering if there is any noticeable effect of the cold winter on the river fish.
Tight Lines.

Interesting question Sandy. The smaller of the two was quite fat. The larger of the two was noticably thinner. As the strech of river they were caught in was within 500 yds you would think the food suppy and availability to individual fish was very similar or the same. Anyone else experienced similar?

Had the same Chris some of the fish I've caught recently have been quite plump where as one or two have been much thiner. I can only conclude that they have preference for different food items whose availability is variable with the seasons.

Plenty of time left to catch up with Mike W's 15 incher then? I tried the lower section of the Culm the Saturday after opening day. Looked special, never saw a fish ! Going tomorrow probably Creedy below Creedy bridge.
