I've been pondering membership for a while but looking at the beat map it seems that it doesn't have half the beats it used too, especially in the middle section of the river. Does anyone know what the deal is?

I stopped being a member a couple of years ago. I didn't really seem to be getting much from it.

River Exe & Tributaries Association www.riverexereta.co.uk/They do a lot behind the scenes. They do run the "Fish the Exe" scheme that is supposed to provide a few beats here and there for the plebs (or anyone else) but it hardly opens the river up that much. There is probably less fishing available on a day ticket now on the Exe system than there ever has been. But this is more to do with the demise of the fishing hotels. Andy

I was only looking a few days ago and was disappointed at the lack of fishing available compared with say 5 years ago. I used to enjoy going over to the Exe, and Barle, but little on offer to tempt. Rob
