Great day yesterday.... fishing for brownies minding my own business and I hooked, laned and released a 15 - 16 inch grayling. The first decent grayling I have caught. Now I know that they are out of season - but I am still really thrilled about it. ;D ;D ;D

That's a good size Grayling for the Exe,although i'm sure a 2lb + fish must be in there somewhere. Found the fishing a bit hit and miss last winter.(mainly miss, actually).

Exe full of grayling the last two outings on TFFC water. one 3" wbt but all the rest grayling to nymph and dry- best 15"- over the two session five to me and ten to them!
Having carefully ascertained the bouncy bullocks where in another farmer's field, started fishing this pm. After half an hour, fly checked at the back of the backcast so turned round to find eight of them staring at me from the bank some 15' away. Broke my 100m in full waders record by a goodly margin!
