Got a day ticket for the cffc waters. Fished Saturday.
Made my way down the Culvery at 0630, which was tricky in the twilight to say the least. Fished up the Yeo from the weir to short of the bridge we Salmonhutch. A few sporadic risers in the margins early on. Not bad considering there was frost. A beautiful dawn, with mist on the water, frost and clear sun. Had maybe four or five fish on a small Terry's Terror (dry) up to 10" before sun up. Finally the fly came undone and switched to a fat Irresistible, which continued to pull out 10 or so more. Took one 12" for the pot. Most fish rising were under tree tunnels.
Walked back up the Culvery. Very low and overgrown. No fish other than at the very bottom. Some serious clearing needed with lots or trash etc.
Did not have time to check out upper Creedy but on way home had a quick dabble below Dunstone bridge. Sun was very high now. Only one bt out of a riffle.
Looking forward to going next year to explore some more
Cheers
