I was just wondering how some forum memner's seasons have been so far? From my perspective it has been sub par with both drought and flood messing up a lot of my days at the bank. I love to fish dry and the fish have not been playing ball probably as there has been lots of feeding with dirty and high water keeping them down. I am now hoping we get an Indian summer

FRUSTRATING! Having been away from westcountry rivers for four years and now back in them every day... I have been itching to get back to being nocturnal again in the summer. It's only been possible about once every couple of weeks in the last two months! It's not often that evenings are spent tying flies during mid-season and I'm even wondering if I'm tying for next year now Tim PS: It's still bloody good just being back! ;D

I am now hoping we get an Indian summer I'm not! I want it to pee down in September, but I think you will get your wish. Trout fishing for me was good in May/June and then I got sidetracked by the salmon in Wessex. There have been more about this year but I've suffered a run of bad luck and lost fish after fish There have been a fair number of salmon taken off the Exe too but they seem reluctant to run up onto the moor where I fish, hence why I'd like a good wet September. Still if we do get an Indian summer the end of the trout season could be good I've also made a tactical error by getting a puppy mid season, should have got him in October and spent the winter beating (not really!) him into shape. Took him to the river last week and all he did all day was swim Andy

At least you don't have to train him to retrieve salmon......yet!
