Anyone fish this much? It's nearest to me as I live in Exeter. Any trout this far down? Any interesting features or is it just a straight channel here? Thanks all.

If you are referring to the Three Horseshoes stretch, then yes there are lots of trout and grayling and dace and chub, on the bottom stretch it meanders with riffles and pools, its not until you reach the top that it goes through a straight channel, this holds a lot of good fish, ultra stealth and deep wading until your bottle goes! Thanks Mo. It does look quite deep and jungle like!

Anyone know if the gate to the parking area (which appears to be on top of a sww installation) is locked and if so is there a key or combination required?
Or is it actually accessed via the small access track leading off upon pyne hill?

I park by the bridge- on the left on the Bernaville Nursery (south) side of the bridge- hop over the fence (well, undignified clamber ) and then you are fishing immediately.

Thanks. Any recommendations on rod length here? It seems a large river.

Well, had a quick look late this evening. Saw one big rise near the bridge but couldn't raise whatever it was with a dry. Covered a fish that made two rises above the first riffle and landed a small 3 inch brown, or it may been have been a parr (it was dimpsy by then).
Interesting water for sure, a real mix. Accessing the upper part looks interesting as it in a gorge pretty much. Quite.a warm evening and more flies seen. Looks like someone else had been recently with bootprints around. Sadly found quite large section of nylon leader on one beach which I took to a bin.

Managed 1 small brownie from a riffle here late yesterday. Otherwise all was quiet. Kingfisher sighted which was nice.
