I was very saddened to hear of the passing of Ray Manzarek, keyboard player of the Doors.
Although Jim Morrison got most of the headlines I always thought he was a cool guy.

Yes, very sad. Manzarek was a brilliant keyboard player and The Doors would not have been the same without him. The intro to Light My Fire never fails to move me.
We seem to have a few music interests in common, Pete. I'm sure I saw you mention The Clash the other day...

Yes, he is an amazing keyboard player. I saw a program about the Doors and the remaining members talked through how they came up with their input to the famous songs. I loved Manzarek talking bout the intro and solo for Light My Fire and he played it on his old vox and it was amazing. He was a deeply cool guy.
Yup, like the Clash too which was a natural little step to the Specials.

Pete having seen the Specials again couple of years ago at the Phoenix in Exeter I had a picture of you in lace up Dr Martin waders with red braces, a tastefully camo Ben Sherman and an olive Pork Pie, very nice on the bank! Yes the Doors were a great band, all of them, it takes more than one and they were tight. Love the Clash as well, best band seen live ... has to JJ Cale and or Bob Marley or Pink Floyd or....
