So last night it finally happened. I landed my first sea trout. I'm still feeling a little euphoric and totally bloody chuffed. It was right in that 'lets have one more cast and go home period' too. (Which for me always means a few more than one last cast, but still...) Here she is:

Thank you, thank you! I'm still riding the wave of joy at the moment. Can't decide whether to go out again tonight or let it sink in a bit first.

I decided not to in the end, I figure I'll probably remember the moment for the rest of my life so I thought I'd give it a bit longer before I get back in the water so as to make it stand out a bit clearer. Next Friday though, I'll be out for sure. And probably Saturday too, if I can slip away from the DIY.

Congratulations, Jimmy- we all know how wonderful the first one was.
But perhaps you should write a series of books to inspire kiddies to take up the sport- My First Rainbow, Mt First Brownie, My first Sea Trout etc etc etc
Talking of books and the reason for posting, I am under severe pressure to clear out and have 40+ recent backcopies of Trout and Salmon and Fly Fishing and Fly Tying free to the first taker. Message me above or email pftzma@gmail.com and we can arrange for collection in Tiverton or Exeter/ elswewhere next time I go that way.

Thanks Paul, I'm now looking forward to getting out there again this weekend.
My First Brown Trout, a book for children - now that is a very interesting idea... I might have to ruminate on it.
I'm afraid I already have more copies of T&S than I should, I heard that waiting rooms won't take them - at least in London, it might be different down here I suppose.
