Just wondered if anyone had any joys with salmon on the rivers that have extensions?

Taken from the UTFA site, so some success.
6 October. Derek Lockett caught a grilse of about 4 lb on fly at Broadmoor and briefly contacted a bigger salmon. Both were relatively clean for the time of year. On the previous day he was in brief contact with two salmon, both of which were coloured.
6 October. Derek Myhill, after several visits, had a salmon of 6 lb on a Mepps while fishing below Upperton. Previously he had found the river too high and then missed a fish on 4 October. His impression was that it was a relatively light run and those salmon that were running were coming through in small pods.
4 October. A small grilse for Russell Scott-Lawson from close to Fingle Bridge. Paul Osborne fished the stretch above Clifford Bridge and hooked a clean salmon of about 8 lb on a Flying-C in Boar's Reach but after a short fight it came adrift.
3 October. Some heavy rain at last brought the river into spate. Brian Parry, after traveling down to Devon for a three-day visit, gave the river a try but found it too high and coloured, only seeing one salmon move. On 4 October he went to Fernworthy and had a successful session with the brown trout. Back to the river on 5 October to find better conditions and within 30 minutes he caught a slightly-coloured hen fish of 29 inches on a Flying-C.

Would be interested to hear of any fly caught Salmon. Spinning is not my thing. Not heard much from the Exe or other North Devon/North Somerset rivers.

Yup, was a little more interested to see if members had been out and wet a line. I got out for a day last week with no salmon but a 10lber was caught the day before and was working on another river Monday and it always felt like something might happen. In one pool we watched the line swing and it went knock, knock, knock but didn't tighten.
If we had an extension on the Taw I'd have been as many times as time allowed especially after all the rain we had early Oct and all the salmon I saw!
