Having spent Saturday cheering England and France on, followed by a very loud Sandy Park for a great and deserved win, it will be nice to be on the river tomorrow with just the gentle sound of the water and birds, as my ears are still ringing!

Won't be a lot different, will it? You'll have Mike yelling in your lughole when he gets into one of his large early season brownies!

Had a little bit of peace today, 8 BT up to 12" on Yeo in a couple hours, spent last weekend in Twickenham, got to visit Wembley Stadium for the NZ match, all of which meant I was playing catch up all week. Off to the Fan Zone in Exeter tomorrow, has any one been there, if so what is it like? Or should I just stay at home?

I think you'll find that Exeter City Council hiring out the stage to an independent promoter was the cause of the problem, went up to see England v Wales, the band that followed that was Bill Ding and the Skyscrapers who had just returned from a sellout tour of Crediton, Bow and New Buildings, I trust you had a peaceful night with the England fans being very subdued!

Well that's the end of the pool stages, must say so far, I know I am biased but the best games I have been to have been at Sandy Park, to see the faces of fans who haven't been there when the Tomahawk Chop starts is fun, even Saints fans were joining in. Only three more matches to go to and I am looking forward to all of them, with a bit of luck will have seen all of the top seeded teams and some very good other teams who overall have been more entertaining. With a bit of luck this diligence will have earned me the right to a new rod, as I only go to the matches to keep the wife company.

I have followed, albeit at a distance ,chiefs from county ground days. Back then they would gather up all the youngsters who were standing& put them in any unoccupied debenture seats! Watched till midway through second half. Then sin bin for 20 mins for war dance up & down living room.. So proud at final whistle I cried. Will be in my "best seat in the house" next Saturday !

I played at the county ground for Exeter and against them. I had a season in there in the days of Bob Staddon, now president, and the Baxters. Most of the side were county players when it meant something . I played cup rugby in there for My home town club , Sidmouth, and we always gave them a good game. It was a great place to play but very heavy after rain. Colin.
