Just had an hour on the Sid,50 yards from my house and a similar distance from my old family home. Cracking bit of fishing catching 14 and losing 2 with another half dozen missed. All on a small c de c emerger. Despite there being loads of trees I only lost one fly and I can pick that up tomorrow. Best fish about 10" but many close to that. Great fun ,I will have to give it another go soon. It certainly brought back some fond memories of my childhood and learning to fish under my dad's guidance. Colin.

Mmm, interesting. I've looked at the Sid a few times as I only live just over the hill. We also did some electro fishing there last year as part of a project looking at the general health of the river and opportunities for improvements. Did you just jump in on the byes section or further up? Maybe tempted myself for a quick visit one eve, there were some nice trout in the electro fishing, a few at 10 inches. Cheers

Been meaning to visit when I'm in that area. What time is best bearing in mind it's a park?

I live overlooking the Byes and start fishing at Lawn Vista bridge. I had a short session last Friday and had 4 . After the tea time dog walks is probably best , but you can't tell. Colin.
