With all this rain in the last few days I thought it was worth having a pop for salmon. A chance to work on my spey casting anyway. When I finally extricated myself from domestic duties and my own stupidity I reached the river with it running high and hard. I went straight into the tail of my favourite pool and within a few casts became attached to this beauty, not the salmon I was after but a nice sea trout all the same. She took a cascade bottle tube as it came on to the dangle in the tail of the pool. I fished on for several hours but, apart from one leaping sea trout, without any further action.

Well done, nice fish. There has been some really big pods of fish seen moving up river over the past couple of weeks. They don't hang around long so being there at the right time is important. Good to see some fish moving. Hoping to get out for a night on the town weir pool.
