I took the day off from work last Thursday and went to the Grand River early in the morning, after a night of heavy rain. Not a soul at any access point or on the water....all day. I love fishing when it's "not a good day for fishing". Tied a zuddler onto a 3x leader and headed down to the river in search of Browns that may have come out of hiding in the high water. Spotted a Carp in an eddy before I stepped in the water, and while keeping myself out of sight in the tall grass I bounced the zuddler around him until it gulped it...I set the hook...and it was game on. Later, with the same streamer on a 5x...I was too lazy to change it....a sizable brown smashed it and swam away with it. Note to self....don't be too lazy to change your leader! It was very satisfying to land this one. I often cast to them when we cross paths while trout fishing and normally they totally ignore my offerings Low water or High water...it's ALL fishable. Ray
