Hi guys. Does anybody know where I can get some vulturine feathers or a cape from.
I see cookshill do them but wondered if there is anywhere else that may do a cape.

Hi Jezney,
Same question posed to a salmon forum in 2013- answer was
Try Cookshill. He has VGF available in packets of 10, but a few years ago I got a fair sized bag of second grade feathers from him at one of the Game Fairs. Some of them are slightly imperfect, or a little bit dirty, but I really don't think the fish will notice and they were at a far more sensible price than you would have to pay for selected feathers.
I do know that paradise Park in Hayle , Cornwall, had few of these birds a couple of years ago- phone or visit and ask for some (feather) droppings!

Thanks guys. I'm after 10-20 I suppose to do up some seatrout flies in a larger size.
It seems the seatrout I'm after have a thing for bigger flies and I like the look of the feather for a pattern. I may have to re think.

FWIW buy from steve at cookshill rather than blag shed feathers. Those that have been moulted by a bird are moulted for a reason - they're knackered!

Hi, I was hoping for a warm summer where I could do some wet wading to remind me of warmer times after bones. Then i cam across this, which makes to invasion of signal crayfish pale into insignificance..... The pacu is being released in various waters as it outcrops aquaria. 'Dr Daniel Merrifield, fish health and nutrition lecturer at Plymouth University, said: "It is quite possible that the pacu could mistake human testicles for nuts or fruits – or large seeds. "Until the discovery of the pacu in Denmark, we didn't realise that the fish had such a wide range of environmental tolerances, in terms of salinity or temperature. "And whilst this ability is not unique to the pacu, and it is not an apex predator, there are several reports of men having their testicles bitten by these fish.' "It would certainly be dangerous if you were the individual bitten."
