Just a point of interest to visitors to this board, earlier this month, I had some difficulty obtaining a day ticket to the UTFA water from the pub at Fingle Bridge. I was staying at the Fox and Hounds when the R Taw came up and changed to 'chocolate soup' fortunately I remembered that the R Teign had a webcam at Fingle Bridge and sure enough the Teign appeared to be unaffected by the rain. I checked in with the Fingle Bridge Inn and was told because the Bovey Castle water was up for sale they did not have any day tickets. Fortunately I had Richard Jackson's tel number in my phone, I called him from the Pub and hit the road to fish in Okehampton. I was a couple of miles outside Drewsteignton when Richard called me to say the Inn did have tickets but I could also get one from the village post office. A quick about turn and 20 minutes later I was walking down to the river. A pleasant afternoon on this beautiful stretch of the river produced just shy of double figures, all small wild brown trout.
