Over this last season I have invited several fellow fluff chuckers to fish with me. Two have. Both have been successful in the same place! Not sure if I am odd ? I get so much joy in seeing someone catch on "my"river!

Not odd at all, there is definitely a great sense of satisfaction to see someone enjoying a place that has given you so much fun/enjoyment before. Also a certain amount of relief when they catch! Even better if they succeeded because of one of your suggestions ( fly pattern, tactic, pool etc..) Not to show off or prove how great a fisherman you are, just nice to help them catch. Also interesting to see how another fisherman 'attacks' your local patch.

I've had a few anglers invite me to fish with them on new venues this year and they have been superb hosts which makes it such a great sport. As halfstoned highlighted it can be quite enlightening watching how different anglers approach a pool and attack it. Last week I fished Avontribs as a guest of a member and it was interesting to watch how he worked the water compared to me.
My approach was tight with a high work rate covering all of the water, where he possibly because he knew the water was more relaxed, leisurely and deliberate in his angling style. We both caught some good fish and took turns catching fish in the pools. It was really relaxing fishing with another angler who I'd never met before and watching both the way he approached it and fished it.
Funnily enough he was disappointed how it fished whereas I as somebody who had never fished the water thought it had fished reasonably well given the sharp drop in temperatures. No doubt we'll have another day out this time with me hosting him as my guest on the Usk.
