Norway looks out of this world. Can't wait to see how you get on.
I can't wait for the season to start and to get out on the seatrout til the early hours,be late for work the next day and be generally useless as I'm so tired. So worth it tho.

Hi everyone,
Just signed up to the forum, as recommended by pusser (think Ive got that right).
Ive been flyfishing for over 30 years, starting off on still waters e.g. Bewl in the South East. Have fished less in the last 6-8 years, but now the kids have nearly grown up I have more time on my hands, so time to reembrace this fantastic pastime!
I have fished the Otter a lot in the past, less nowadays. Also get to fish the Wylye, Loddon, Itchen a few times per year. Big fan of winter Grayling fishing- have joined the Grayling Society. New member to Crediton Fly Fishers, so would be good to hear from fellow members.

Hi all Just joined up, haven't fly fished for far too long, want to teach my boy and realised after bringing up a family, working far too long hours and fixing up too many houses how much I've missed lazy summer evenings walking the river looking for a nice spot to work. So I'm back and will prob be on here for advice as I guess things have changed after nearly 20 years!
Cheers Matt

Welcome Matt, very much the same here, after several years with just the odd day on reservoirs finally got back into river fishing about 5 years ago and realised how much I'd missed it. Now it's back to being a bit of an obsession! There are plenty of knowledgeable guys on here for advice, they soon got me back up to speed as the tech part of fly fishing had certainly moved on ( the trout are still the same though).

Good evening, all.
Having just come back from the fly fishing event in the Fox & Hounds today, I just wanted to say thanks for a cracking event.
I returned home to go straight out in the recreation field here in Princetown, to practice my double haul. Thanks to Pete, Charles and friends... My double haul works a treat now!
Well chuffed as its been only 3 years in the making!!
So this is the threshold for a venture into small river/stream fishing in the west Devon area. While I remain time poor working in Helston, my friend and I have a plan to park up in Princes Hall and walk the river in the evening. With a Kelly Kettle and bivvie bag our plan includes a kip under the stars and thence an early morning cast. Can you tell my friends a Royal Marine?!? Still I'm very much looking forward to it.
So as a member of the DEVONPORT Services, I'm looking for other similar clubs or leagues... As I wonder what competitions exist for those interested in small waterways... Interested if appropriate and available.
I look forward to hearing others news. What s privilege it was meeting like minded people today... A glorious day and incredibly informative... Thank you very much to all those involved in organisation.
Best wishes
Simon

Hey simon and welcome.... Sounds like you had a great day.... Pete and Charles make the principles of casting real easy, they have a real gift for taking the b@llsh!t out of it and making it simple.... I would have loved to pop along, but decided I needed a self-imposed lock down this weekend... I've been out fishing quite a bit over the first few weeks of the season and needed to earn some brownie points in readiness for the season kicking in through May/June Like the idea of your plans for fishing Dartmoor... Just pick a nice warm evening..... I wasn't in the marines

Hello all. Settled down here pretty recently; 40 years of Hampshire chalkstreams behind me and almost zero knowledge of fishing down here! I feel ill-equipped, ignorant and yet very very happy! Just for ease I am Otter based, but am very aware there is a huge array of water out there. Yours flounderingly, Ed

Meon, Test and Itchen. All very lovely, but a world away from here! Warnford on the Meon, Winchester and around Stockbridge.

Nice, Meon has been on my list for a while now and am hoping to do something about that this year.
