It's been a few weeks since I got out, dark to early after work and busy every weekend.... Need to try and get up to the Tone before it turns cold- until I've replaced my leaky waders I doubt I'll be out much once the weather changes... Nice to see that you're all making the most of the mild weather and getting some dry fly action.

Let me know when you are heading over next, if I am about I'd love to pop along and have spare waders!

Cheers for the offer Pete, I may be able to borrow some boot foot waders from work.... Cheap, thicker and heavier material- but could be OK for a few sessions in the winter... But I keep forgetting to dig them out and check the size. Perhaps we could try and get a date together when we meet on the 15th... By then the dry action could well be over, which wouldn't be a bad thing as I really need to spend some time practicing and developing my nymphing.... I'm fine on a more traditional longer line upstream nymph but very ropey with a more Czech style indicator set up.

OK, we can sort something when we meet. I think Lewis will be coming on the Sunday and I reckon if we ask nicely he can give some nymphing tips, He's one of the best in the business. If you check out the latest ESF post he has written a piece about it.

Still a bit of a push on the river we fished but it was clear and there were some grayling too. We've started a nice little tradition of having a full english before we hit the river, nothing like a true sportsmans breakfast.

Agreed on the breakfast Pete. We will be having one on the way to Wherwell tomorrow. It looks like it will be windy but dry. I will endeavour to get a few pictures. I might be able to get away on Sunday for the meet up. All depends on my darling wife as I am fishing all day tomorrow and shooting all day Saturday. Cheers, Colin.

Hi Colin, Hope you can make it but no worries if not. Haven't been to Wherwell for ages. I popped out for a solo fish y'day but the river was pushing too much but I managed fish from one spot before calling it a day and popping in to see Paul.

Very windy day on Friday but managed over 20 grayling up to about 1.25lb on a mixture of dries and gold heads. I took a couple of pictures which I hope come out.

From the Tone Colin, TFFC. The day started like a proper grayling day with me having to scrape ice off of the windows. I only managed 2 hours but caught a few fish and had a good time. This was the prettiest though.

I decided I could handle it no more and had to get out before Christmas. The river was at a fishable level so in my mind that's all that mattered and I neglected to check the weather, as I didn't think the rain would affect the river. The 45mph winds however meant that when I cast my flies, they ended up 45 degrees to me in the hedge. Had to think outside the box a little and managed plenty of fish to quench my thirst for atleast a couple of weeks,,at most.
